Get a Virtual Credit Card from SBI, ICICI, HDFC and Kotak Mahindra?

Virtual credit card is surely a gift for Bloggers and Freelancers in India as most of the Indians doesn't have a valid credit card and this VCC helps them to verify their PayPal account as well as make online transactions.

If you’re a webmaster or at least a online shopping freak, you might surely need a credit card (most of the times) to purchase products/services online. Getting a credit card in India is not so easy. You need to meet several guidelines of Indian Banks and this is where Virtual credit cards come handy.

What is a Virtual Credit Card?

A Virtual credit/debit card is a one-time use card which comes with pre-loaded amount and a few months of validity. With virtual credit card in place, you don't have to worry about using your actual credit card for making purchases online. Instead, this will be expired immediately after used and so there is no chance of misuse of this virtual credit card. It doesn’t exist in physical form.

You’ll be provided with all the details that a real credit card possesses such as Name, CC number, CVC number, Expiry date etc… The only exemption is that the VCC will be expired immediately after use.

How to Apply for a Virtual Credit Card in SBI (State Bank of India)?

   1. Login to your SBI online banking account (https://www.onlinesbi.com/).
   2. Navigate to the e-Cards option present on the menu bar.
   3. Next, fill the amount (VCC limit). Agree to the terms and click “Generate” button.
   4. Again click “Generate” on the next screen to confirm.
   5. You’ll be provided with a virtual credit card on which you’ll find all the details that you require.

How to Create a Virtual Credit Card in HDFC?

   1. Go to HDFC Netsafe service website and click “Login to NetSafe” link on the right side.
   2. On the next screen, click on “Register” button.
   3. Click on “I Accept” button.
   4. On the next step, enter your HDFC credit card/debit card number, expiry details and click “Submit”.

          Note: if it is a debit card number, you’ll be asked for your ATM PIN number.

   5. Next, enter your mobile number, security/secret text and other personal information.
   6. Next, enter a unique username and password for your NetSafe account. Your account is now registered. Next, you’ll have to generate a Virtual credit card.
   7. Login to NetSafe service and enter an amount (limit). Click “Go” to create a virtual credit card.

That’s it! You’ll be provided with a virtual card which you’ve to use within the next 24 hours or else it will be automatically expired.

    Note: You can view all your transaction details if log into your NetSafe account and navigate to the “All accounts/services” > Txn.

How to Generate Virtual Credit Card at Kotak Mahindra?

   1. Login to your Kotak net banking account.
   2. Select “netc@rd” tab and click on “Generate Card”.
   3. Select your account and enter the amount (VCC limit) to generate the card.
